My Favorite sports athlete (Valerie Adams)

Valerie Adams

Valerie Adams is one of my favorite sports athlete. She is my inspiration and I'd love to meet her some days. She has been breaking records and always giving it her best shot.Valerie Adams was born on 6 October, 1984, in Rotorua. She first began competing aged 14, after taking part in a school competition and being seen by Kirsten Hellier, later her coach. Her Tongan mother died from cancer when Valerie was 16. Her father was an Englishman who settled in New Zealand. I love seeing her smiles, they just make my day. She is a four-time World champion, four-time World Indoor champion, two-time Olympic, three-time Commonwealth Games champion and twice IAAF Continental Cup winner, can you believe that. Valerie Adams has won four world championships, four world indoor championships and three Commonwealth Games gold medals in addition to her two Olympic golds and one silver, that's more than I expected.

Things that will be happening on Earth if everything works

As we know coronavirus is still a thing and today marks the day we moved to level 4. So far 2021 has been a nice and normal year and we all hope there wouldn't be a lot of cases and lockdowns. We should be proud because we have looked after ourselves but not just us also the world for following the rules. We should be happy because on October the 1st Walt Disney World is having there 50th anniversary, can you believe that. I'm even happier that they are having the Olympics in Tokyo and will be held on the 23rd of July to the 8 of August 2021. For all the cricket fans out there I hope your looking forward for the T20 cricket world cup that will be held on October. We also need to celebrate the queen's 95th birthday that would be on the 7th of June. The bad things are that 82 indians have been infected with the new COVID-19 that was discovered in Britain over the last two weeks of 2020. For all the Elon Musk fans unfortunately Elon Musk passes it on to Jeff Bezos to be the richest man in the world. Back to our good news, and yes April fools will be on the 1st of April I know, time flies. Finally it's almost easter on the 4th of April, I hope COVID wouldn't spoil it. Matariki is happening in 99 days on June the 24th, time does fly by. Now for the things that already happened but some of us didn't realize. Facebook and Instagram banned Donald Trump for at least two weeks, it must be hard to live without social media. Biden's win was certified by congress meaning that he won the election again, WOW. Near the Capitol, pipe bombs were reportedly found at the RNC headquarters and a suspicious package arrived at the DNC headquarters. I hope you all stay safe and hopefully these fun things would happen. I also hope we find a cuer for COVID-19. GOD bless you

Emerging Leaders

On the 23rd of march we went to a really famous restaurant called Homeland and close to the Harbour bridge. We first had to change into our Emerging leaders shirt and cap, we would also like to thank Mr Steve for our lovely shirts and caps. We got into the St Kents van and we saw Glen Taylor in the other van and we waved. We thought it'll be close but then it was far. When we were in the city there was a window above us and when we looked up the houses were so tall that it felt like it was falling. It was so fun that we didn't want to leave the van. When we reached to Homeland I saw the chef Peter Gordon. When we first went in it felt like we were in a shining house. The best part was when they served us breakfast and for breakfast we had a cookie and water or milo. We had a talk and we had to start the lesson. We were making meatballs and pasta with sauce. We couldn't see but good thing there was a HUGE tv in front of us. We first made the meatballs. All you needed is meat (optional) onions, garlic and other things you want in it. We made it into balls laid it on a tray and we had to put a cloth on it before we put it in the fridge. Once that was done we fried onions with small pieces of garlic and we waited for the what we were making next. We made the sauce and in it was sauce, carrots, silverbeet, and with other vegetables then left it a side. Next we got out our meatballs and shaked it in flour then fried it.  We then sank it inside the sauce and put it into the oven with some cheese on top. For the pasta we had different kinds of shapes and I forgot the shapes. We added salt in the boiled water that was boiling the past few minutes. We waited not to long for it to boil a bit more. We next added the pasta and we made sure there was no one beside us because the hot water might splash on them. It smelled so nice that we wanted to eat now. After we just waited and cleaned up our table and waited for our meal. When it was ready we served ourselves and went out to wait for the others. We saw the garden and the beautiful view. When it was time we said grace and then we enjoyed our lovely meal. It was so nice that we could't stop eating. It was something I'd have as a treat. We were allowed to go for 2nds but I decided to let them enjoy it. After we thanked Peter Gordan for inviting us and preparing the ingredients. We went back to school and I felt fool and a bit sleepy but excited for our next trip.

Leadership program

Today we started our leadership program. Our first trip was going to Glen Taylor school. We were so excited to meet the other 10 people that's also doing this program. There was only 9 of us because Asi was sick. We waited in the Glen Taylor office. It was really nice how they decorate and show off their trophies. After that we went to the hall and waited at the entrance. Our first activity was oldest to shortest. It was really difficult because we couldn't talk we could only use our hands. They checked but it wasn't really in the right order so they gave us one more chance but we could talk. It was in the correct order but not only that it was also easier for them to put us in groups. We had to learn there names and think of a group name. We couldn't think of one so we just name it group 1. We washed our hands then looked at the teacher. She was making sushi and it looked so easy but when we tried we were struggling. Group 2 and 3 were making the sushi and group 3 was cutting the sushi. We each had a turn making sushi, it was hard because the sushi kept making holes. We had to grab a handful of rice and spread with some water because it was sticky. We also added chicken or tuna with some vegetables. At the end we got to eat it and it was so nice. There was enough for everyone and we each had fun eating it. Lastly we had to do youngest to oldest just in case we forgot. We also had to learn there name and tell Mr Hendricks what there names were. They told us what was gonna happen tomorrow with Peter Gordon. We had so much fun that we wanted to stay there for the whole day but we had to go back to school.
