My Dream Holiday

My dream holiday is to go to the United states. Why I want to go there is because I want to watch a basketball game in the huge Golden States Warriors court. For those who don't know the Golden State Warriors, its a basketball team in San Francisco and there you will find my favorite bridge called the Golden Gate Bridge. San Francisco is a beautiful city in California and  I would love to take my family and friends with me because it's their dream holiday too and most of our families are there. Once I see the Golden States Warrior players they are gonna look huge like a elephant and really tall. I'll also like to play in the WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association)  and become famous. I hope my dream comes true. 

My first Summer Learning Journey 2020

Today we used this app called Art Coloring Book. It was part of our Summer Learning Journey. It was digital, when we clicked somewhere it just colored that place. It was fun coloring it. I think you should try it because it's fun and it can exercise your hand. It took a few minutes for me to finish it and it also looks real if you can color it. It was the best coloring app I ever used. I hope you like it to

Water Safety

Today we learned about water. I learned many things from Whaia Moe. It was really fun and some parts were sad. If you are in the water NEVER hold someone. The story was that there were three boys and they were playing the person to hold their breath the longest. They played that and got jealous because the other boy kept on winning so they held him under the water and he couldn't breath so the lifeguards told everyone to get out because of those 2 boys. They called the ambulance and on the way to hospital he past away. It was a really sad story and they didn't mean to do it or end it like this. I learned to NEVER EVER do that to anyone. Don't panic when you are in danger just put one hand up and shout for help. Float on your back and don't fight the current or else you won't have that much energy to swim back. How to identify a rip. It will look rough and dark. Most people drowned in it and never fight it. You can break a bone if you bomb, manu and other dangerous things. It happen to a boy when he broke the swimming school rules and broke is neck. I have learned a lot and learned to never do it or try it. I had a fun program.

2. Did you know more than 480,000   people every year die in the United states because of smoking.	3. We need to keep our body healthy and fit. We can’t just sit down playing games and eating snacks
4, We really need to stop smoking and drinking because we are making more problems into our own world and humans	5. Smoking and drinking can really cause a big problem in your life. You can either get cancer or another disease.
6. If we did not have alcohol  We would be having nice people that do not steal or do bad things	7. A single cigarette contains over 4,800  chemicals, 69 of which are known to cause cancer. Secondhand smoke contains over 7,000 chemicals, including 70 cancer causing chemicals
8. About 8.6 million people in the US have at least 1 serious illness that's caused by smoking	9. Most smokers die 10 years earlier than nonsmokers. There are about 1,300 people that die from smoking.
10. You can lose money by buying cigarettes or alcohol. People lose their money because of buying alcohol, cigarettes and the bad things for our body. Did you	11. know that they sell it because they want to earn money. I think we should stop buying bad things for us and use the money for good things. What do you think?

The Amazing Duffy Show

 

Today we had people coming to perform. The story was about the lost coggin. First they welcomed us. Then they said there character names are Duffy, Lex and Bex. When they started the show I was so excited to watch the AMAZING show. They first started off with bex reading this book and Duffy popping out of nowhere. When they started they act like it really happen. Bex felt sad because it was the end of the story and she was really looking forward to read the interesting story about the coggin. When Aaron came on youtube they watched it and Bex wanted to ask mum if she could have a coggin and mum said yes. Its was $49.99 for a coggin. But really coggins aren't real. When the deliver came with a huge box that was as big as a elephant. When the coggin popped out we got scared and Bex screamed really loud like a lion. But Bex got used to it. The coggin was a chicken, cat and a dog. That's why coggins aren't real because this was made out of three animals. They named it Milly because it was silly. It keeps pooping everywhere and Duffy said something bad and the coggin chased Duffy. Duffy ran his fastest that he couldn't stop. When Bex said sit the coggin said "Milly Sit" then we all laughed. After that they were all calmed down but they were tired of looking after the coggin so they needed help. Bex said "We don't want you anymore" then the coggin cried and went away. Next there were looking for Milly and said that the regret what they did. So they went looking everywhere and Milly was looking everywhere to. We helped them look for Milly  but they still couldn't find he so mum put up a lost poster for people to look for her. They were so excited when they saw 1 comment but it said coggins aren't real so they had to wait. When Aarons new video came out the all watched it and it helped them find Milly. It said to go in the book and there's a coggin song. We all sang the song and Milly popped up but went back because we were noisy. So we sang it again but quit then Milly fell asleep. We tried one more time but quite and fast, it worked and we were happy. The End. Lastly we asked many questions and we got to know them.  

How to make Tapa

 

1. After the hiapo is cut down, women and girls peel the bark from the tree.

2. They hang the bark in the sun to dry.

3. They soak the dried bark in water to make it soft.

4. They beat the bark with a wooden tool called a ike to make it thinned and wider

5. They dry the bark in the sun again

6. In the school hall, the women and girls cover the table with material. This will be backing for the ngatu.

7. They line up feta'aki along the table on top of this backing material. The they paste the edges of the feta'aki to the back material. 

8. They cover the backing material with paste.

9. They carefully lay the feta'aki over the top of the backing material. Then they press the two pieces together and slowly toll them up.

10. They carry the ngatu outside and roll it out on the concrete so it can sry in the sun. When it is dry they will paint the ngatu with some brown dye, using a piece of feta'aki as a brush

Learning How To Read Notes

Today we had Jelly Beans Music with Risa. We learned how to play Mary had a little lamb on a the glockenspiel. It was easy and the main notes was E D C. After we learned it Mr Naidoo picked some people to play it by themselves. Many of us didn't learn it fully but Jaylove played it well. When we finished playing Mary had a little lamb we played hot cross buns but with the same notes. After learning how to play it we played them together. When we finished we went to grab a instruments. There were drum discs, triangles, tambourines and castanets. When we were playing it I learned how to read notes and it wasn't that hard. I had fun and I was happy that I learned how to read music notes.

Change the things you can and accept the things you cannot change

 Today we had bounce back and we learned that you can change things in your life and things that are done is done and can't be undone. What it means is that if someone says something mean and you start a fight but then after a while you go apologize and that person apologize back then its done and cannot be undone. Do your best to keep trying to solve problems and change things you don't like in your life, but know when it is time to accept what you can't change. Sometimes you can't change a situation because it is not within your control. There is no point in getting upset over what you can't change as it wont make any difference to the situation.

Today we had our first dance lesson with Miss G. First we walked in and sat down, next the dance teacher told us her name. Then she said, "So we are gonna find a partner and make a hand shake with only 4 movements". When she was finished telling us the instructions we stood up and started making our handshake. When we were finished we sat down and Miss G picked to groups to stand up and show us there handshake. The 4 girls went first and showed our 4 movement handshake and the boys were the audience it was fun and then after the boys showed us there 4 movement handshake. After we were dont we had to find another partner and make up a different 4 movement handshake without your hands. You could yous your head, leg, feet, shoulder, knee and other body parts besides your hands. When Miss G said GO we were all running but luckily no one was hurt. My next one was Damani and we made a amazing handshake with the side of out foot and our elbow. Next Miss G told us to show our handshake and remember then we showed the boys our handshake. Then the boys showed us there amazing handshake. When we were finished showing our handshake we had to make another 4 movement handshake. After we did the same thing then we all sat in a circle. We sat in a circle because we were playing a clapping game. The game was to clap then Miss G does another beat clap and we follow her. We had 3 different clap movements we practice 3 times and we had a challenge. Our challenge was to try beat room 10's score. There one was 7 seconds. Mr Naidoo started the time then we all clap really fast. Our score was 5.25 and we were shouting loud that we couldn't stop. After celebrating we sat down in front of Miss G and we had to describe how lockdown was. We came up with a lot of words then we had to make something. First we made shapes for the ingredients second we added the flavour and the flavour was to do a roll, turn, jump and some other things. After doing those we added the method and it was reverse, repeat, locomotor, and other things I forgot. We put them all together and we performed in front of the class. They all were amazing. It was fun and awesome that i wanted to stay. 

Who's to blame

In our Bounce Back program we were learning how to blame fairly. It means for an example if we lost a basketball game by 2 points, who do you blame? In the story that we read, Josh blamed it on himself because he missed the important 3 pointer and Hunter blamed it on the 2 people that came late. whose fault is it? 

If you were in a fight and you didn't do anything but you blamed it on yourself how would you feel? I'll feel sad because I would regret it. If you see someone sad and the person blamed it on his enemy but it was actually your friend and you blamed it on your enemy because you know how your friends gonna feel. Do you think it's fair? I'll say no because that's what you call a fake friend, you have to trust them for you to think that person's fake or real. Don't blame everything on other people because sometimes it's just bad luck. I learned that sometimes it's just bad luck and if it was you just take the blame and learn from it.

My favorite glass

Today we had to get a glass or mug with water inside and another cup with liters and milliliters  on it. The reason why we needed a cup with the volume is because we were measuring water. First we grabbed our favorite cup with water inside then we took a picture with it so we can blog about it then we waited for what Mr Naidoo was gonna say next. After we were done Mr Naidoo said, " Go on the class site and there's a doc called my favorite glass" then we all clicked it and we waited for other people so Mr Naidoo can tell us the next thing to do. When we were done we had to guess the amount of water the cup will hold then we write it on the doc, after we pour the water in and then it will measure the amount of water you have. Then when we were done we put the real amount of water that was inside, for an example Mr Naidoo said to guess the amount of water then I guessed 200 but when I poured it in it stopped a 350ml. After doing that we had to post it on our blog then we were done.

Digital Technology

Today we had digital technology with Matua Tamati. We first sat down and Matua tested us if we still remembered some of the words Matua told us yesterday. The words were input, process, output and storage there was also actions to it. The other words were algorithm, C.S.I (Clear Step by step sables Instruction) function, debug, bug, decomposition, mblock, coding, loop, composition, conditional, and 3D printer. Matua gave us instructions. The instructions were 1 person gets the ipad and the other person gets the Mbot, after we did that we sat down and we had to wait for the next instruction. When we were settled down Matua said, " There's a robot there blinking one eye and you click that then wait for the next instruction". After we clicked on it he said to " click a block and name it light move and song" and we did that. Then he said to connect the mbot to the ipad by just putting the top part of the mbot where the bottom of the ipad is. Then we learned to control it and Matua was just helping us if we didn't understand. We had fun controlling it and Some girls and I learned how to do a wheelie with it. After we sat down behind the yellow line and Matua tested us again because we still had time. When we were finished we stood in a line and we went off to class. We all had fun and we were all excited to go again.

My Holiday

In the holidays my family and I had the most fun holiday together because we did lots of exciting things.

My mum and my two brothers went to Auckland Grammar for our training and we were sweating but we had lots of fun learning basketball skills. After my training I still had energy so I joined the under 14 class and learned many things from the older kids. When we were finished we drove home and my mum was just talking to us about sports. After that we got home and we showered and went to Viaduct and we saw many expensive boats and they were huge but the biggest none was white and fancy. After we went to get pizza from Glen Innes and while waiting we went to paknsave to get snacks and other things. After going to Paknsave we went to the basketball court in Tamaki and we had the best sunday. We went back home and got ready for church at 6:30, and we went to get ready and go. We got to church and we went in an sat down. After a while I saw Miss manuel standing]next to the door welcoming people so I went to say hi and she was surprised so we started talking. After church we went back home and got ready for school. I had the best Sunday with my family. I felt blessed and happy, and I am looking forward to my next holiday.

My Matariki Art

This is my art I drew and it took 5 days to finish it. It was fun drawing it and colouring it. I drew mountains, the sun and the moon. I also learned that there's 500 stars but only 8 or 7 are visible without a telescope. People think there's 7 including the mum that's 8 but there's actually 9. After drawing I coloured the mountains with a pencil and coloured the background with a vivid. I cuted stars because I couldn't draw it with black but my background was coloured black so i putted some stars and colored it. After all that colouring and drawing my teacher cutted some paper with the guillotine for the background on the side. When he was done cutting it he sticked it on and gave it to me to draw some maori patterns on the side anywhere. I finished on Friday and Friday was the day I needed it to be done so I was happy and Mr Naidoo stabled it on the wall for the display.

Celebrating Matariki

Today we were celebrating matariki. Each class had a display and it was about matariki. All of them were amazing and some of their art took about 3 or 4 weeks to complete it. Rooms 6 7 8 and 10's display was all about are and room 6's art had maori meaning. After looking at the seniors art display we went to the juniors and they art display to. They had art stars together with the matariki cluster name. We liked exploring there amazing art work and most of them looked wonderful. After exploring we came back and i learned how to make a kite with chop sticks and wool. all you have to do is go over under over under and the colours will also change. After exploring we will be having hangi for a celebration and the kapa haka group will be performing. Every art work looked amazing and they also put there hard work into it.

How to play leader strike

Leader strike is a fun game and you might like it. It's like a leader and president  game but you strike and strike means you can shoot, aim,  climb and do anything but you can’t go in the houses, you can only go on the roof. You can pick any character but some of them you  have to log in and pick your own nickname. Sometimes you can get mad when you lose or die but it’s still fun because when you die you can still play and when you lose you can have another rematch. Anyone can play even though you're an adult because leader strike is for anyone. There are 2 teams and they are black and blue.

How to play leader strike is you have to wait because it loads and after it loads you automatically come to the menu. When you click on the auto you come to another menu and it says  local save or online save. You click on any and it takes you to pick your own character but some says log in to all features but you don’t have to click it because there's some other ones that says select and you don't have to log in or do anything but click select. After that you can make a room but when you make the room you click new room and it says room name, game mode, player limit, map and you can pick any gun and whoever joins has to use that gun but when it shows up b you can pick to click on it or not click on it but if you click on it you can pick your own gun but you have to earn money by killing.

A True Friend

On saturday morning everyone was getting ready to take part in the cross fit games. We had breakfast and we were meeting new people that also wanted to take part. While having my breakfast I saw my friends and their names were Stephanie, Hevaha, Mokoia and Eloida. I went to talk to them and I asked if they had breakfast and they said “We didn’t know there was breakfast” so I said “Come and take a seat and make yourself comfortable while I get your breakfast”. So they listened and I was ordering their breakfast and then when it came I put on some dressings and a glass of water. They enjoyed it so I asked them if they want to get ready and warm up so something doesn't happen to our healthy body. They said “sure” and I said “Ok i’ll lead you there” so they followed me to the humongous training and warming up area. They said “When did they make this humongous gym?” I said “I don't know because I haven’t been here for a while. So we got ready and we were all warming up. The cross fit games started at 2pm so we finished everything at 1:30 so I said to myself “we finished at the right time. We all settled down at 1:40 and we were waiting for Angel to open the huge gate to see our hard workout. We had to lift up weight, run, and more fun things. We were all excited to take part and have fun. We reached the hard work out and it was lifting 70 kg’s. It was really hard so we all tried to win 5,00000 dollars and a huge trophy that also comes with a cross fit metal.we try our best and we didn’t give up. We had to hold it for 15 seconds then we dropped it and run to the finish line. Eloida ran and she sprained her ankle and it looked really painful so we all ran to the finish line and stopped to go and help her. The ambulance was on there way to come and take her but before she went Angel announced who won the 5,00000 dollars but it was hard to pick so Stephanie, Hevaha, Mokoia, Eloida and I won it together with the trophy and metal, we were all happy and we were also celebrating. When we got to the hotel we were celebrating there too and said “WELL DONE” to each other. THE END

How to play splatoon

• This is a splatoon and anyone can play it. If you're a kid, teen or adult you can play splatoon because splatoon is a game for anyone.  It’s a fun painting game and whichever team painted the most wins. For an example if the teams were pink vs green and green almost painted the whole stage means green wins.

• This is a splatoon and it's a painting game. You can pick your own painting. equipment and you customs your outfit then click start. When you click start it will take you to a menu. It takes you to a menu so you can wait for other people to join so you can start the game. When we start the device sets teams and its equal teams.

• I like playing this game because I like painting, customising my clothes and choosing my painting weapon. I suggest you don't play splatoon everyday because you’ll get addicted to it and you won’t be able to learn a lot.

Doctor Seuss's message about like

I highly recommend this book because it helps you in life and helps you to never give up. Doctor  Seuss's message was there's ups and downs but you can bounce back. Ups is good and downs is bad but when your down it doesn't mean you have to stop, you can keep trying because you might not know your coming back up. Another message is life is like you're on a roller - coaster because you have ups and downs. Keep trying and never give up.

Why I like School learning and home learning

I like going to school because I get help and we do fun activities. I love school because I learn new things every day. I get to spend time with my friends and spend time with the school. School is important for you because when you're a teen or adult you have to know more than teens or childrens. I like the subject they give me because they are always hard. When we are lonely friends and school leaders always come and help. I love school because we swim and learn how to save our lives. Glen Innes school is the best primary school i've been to. We do lots of sports to get fit but not just to get fit but to look after our body. Sports is my favorite thing to do at school. The thing I like about the morning's is fitness and jump jam. I miss school and seeing my friends.



I also like home learning because we are safe and we still get to learn. Home learning is kind of fun because our parent can help and we can finish work anytime but not after 2 weeks. We had to do home learning because of coronavirus. I kind of like it because I don't get distracted.

Did you know Jupiter  and Saturn are known as gas giants. This is because they both have a small rocky centre, surrouded by a surface made out up of gas. We could never land spacecraft on the gas giants.

Once there was a girl and she liked playing with dolls, after
a while she got bored and started playing outside. When she
went outside she was scared and she was shouting for help
when she was playing because she saw people trying to
kidnap her. She kept shouting but no 1 heard so she ran
her fastest but the people were faster. When they caught
her she was still shouting then the police heard her so they
got in their cars and rushed. The police were not going to
make it then this dog came and tackled  the kidnapper's 
hips and all the kidnappers were arrested. The girl learned
a lesson that she will never go outside by herself. Then the
next day she asked her mum if she can have the dog
because the dog saved her life from getting kidnaped.
Her mum said, “yes of course you can have 1” then the
girl was so happy. They both went to buy her dog and the
owner said, “What's the name?” and the girl said “Stephanie
is the name”.

COVID 19

Back to school

Today we were allowed to come back to school and I felt happy. When I came I
was happy and excited to see my friends after 6 weeks. I thought there would only
be 15 students but I saw more learners and I felt happy to meet them again. I
said to my friends, “What have you been doing?” and they said, “ Nothing much
but playing games and doing homework” at the same time I felt really good that
I finally got to meet them. We were chatting too much because we haven’t seen
each other since the lockdown started. When I got to school I saw Mr Ramkolowan
and Mr Hendricks with their long beards at the gate and it was funny  to see them
because they never used to have beards and I was excited to meet them. I went
to the seniors and I saw 3 girls excited like me. I went to chat with Hevaha at the
seniors with my brother and cousin. We were talking about our holiday and it was
fun because we were also chatting to each other on gmail. After a while we saw
many people coming in. We got in our line, and  Mr Hendricks said, “ When you
go to the library you have to give  your device to one of the teachers so they can
clean it”. After all that we got to class and we were having fun when Mr Naidoo
was doing his work.He told us about COVID 19 and the times of our breaks. We
went to the garden after break 1 and we were eating Yummy fruits, I was also
happy because we went with room 10. I had a good day. I would rather go to 
school than stay home because I love learning.

Back To Leaning

When I came back to school I saw my friends and new kids. I saw Christian and we were talking about the 6 week holiday. The best part of my holiday when it was  when it was my big brothers birthday. We saw lot of parent and year 7's getting black uniform because they are seniors now. Room's 2,3,4,8 and 9 were excited to jump on the bouncy castle. I felt overjoyed to see my friends and teacher's after 6 weeks.

Valerie Adams is a famous New Zealand shot Putter. She won 4 championship medel on 2016.  I think she should be picked because she try hard and represent New Zealand.  She made her country proud by being the first kiwi named the world athlete.
