On a chilly morning the crazy wind was howling so loud that it almost cracked the windows open. Looking outside at the mud reminded me of a sweet delicious cake with Milo. While I was working the water was flowing and birds were chirping so loudly it felt relaxing. Trees were waving and the clouds were crying but the wind was so strong it almost blew my house away to Africa. Puddles were so big that I could hear the splashes and droplets.

Some things about me (Day 1)

Kia ora, Malo e lei lei, Bula vinaka, Fakalofa lahi atu, Kia orana, Talofa lava, Namaste and greetings. My name is Ilaise and I go to Glen Innes School. I'm in year 6 and my favourite subjects are maths and writing. I also love sports as much as I love my family. I am a proud Tongan and in New Zealand, my favorite thing to eat is homemade food. The sport I play now is basketball and I started playing at the age of 9, right now I'm 10. There are times I don’t like to do work but I push myself. I’m in room 11 and my teacher is Mr Naidoo, he is an amazing teacher as well. In life there are ups and downs but sometimes we just have to get over it. My dream vacation is to San Francisco, a city in California in the U.S (United states) and my top 2 NBA (National Basketball Association) teams are Charlotte Hornets and Golden state warriors.When I grow up I want to be a sports athlete and my dream is to make it into the WNBA (Women's National basketball association) and make my family and country proud. What I would do if I won a Medal at the olympics games

 

If I won a medal at the olympic games, I would celebrate with my family

and thank them for believing in me and not stopping me because of my

haters. Next I would come together with my friends and celebrate with

some food but it doesn't mean I stop training, I’d still need to be prepared

for my next olympic game. The last thing I would do is share my stories

with other people to inspire them and even though they are young they

could start because when you're growing, things would be easy but at the

same time hard.

Lost in the Woods

 On a Beautiful day 4 students were selected to participate in a camp. There was a teacher and her name was Mary, the children were excited for the camping trip. Their names were  Nixon, Teagen, Jordan and Ryan. Their trip was on the next day so they packed a lot of things because the trip was a week and the trip was somewhere in the woods. The next day they arrived at school then hopped in Mary’s white van. The 4 students noticed something in Mary’s car. They heard weird things at the back but they were too scared to go see. When they arrived there it was late, at 9.00pm. After that they came across a sign that said no trespassing, and the interesting thing was that we found an abandoned house not far from their camping site. 

At around 5am they heard a creepy sound so they peaked through the window. They couldn’t believe what they saw, they saw Mary taking out people from her car, “ wait a minute is that why we heard creepy sounds in Mary’s car” said Nixon. “ “Maybe that's it, this all makes sense now that's why she came with a white van”. “I don’t feel safe here, I think we should leave,” said Teagen. They weren’t safe but lucky they had a phone. The first thing they did was to call the police. They couldn’t believe what happened so they had to rush because it was so dangerous. When the police arrived they saw people full of blood on the floor, but they reached there on time because this man named Justin had a knife and stabbed Mary on the back straight away. All the children were shocked and shouted so loud for help and the police keeped the children safe while the other policemen did their job. After they did their investigation they took the students back to their houses and arrested Justin for stabbing Mary but Justin explained about what happened and the police let him go. All the kids were devastated at what they saw. When they arrived at their houses the policeman said they can’t go camping in the woods ever again because of the incident that recently happened. So Nixon, Teagen, Jordan and Ryan listened to the policemen and never went camping in the woods again but they still went camping somewhere else. 10 years later, Nixon, Teagan, Jordan and Ryan grew up and they all worked at mai fm and they all lived a happy life. They all were happy with what they did as grown ups because they all are successful. 

How a Lever Works

 

If your wondering how a lever works it needs a fulcrum and another word for fulcrum is pivot. A lever is a equipment that lifts heavy loads and for a lever to work effectively it need a fulcrum. First you'll need your lever, then you put your fulcrum under the lever, next it'll be hard to get your heavy load onto the lever. What you do is put your lever under your load then push like your digging, once your done with that you put your fulcrum under the lever, it will be easier if you put your fulcrum close to the load but remember under the lever. Finally on the other side of the lever you put effort then it will lift like nothing happened. The equipment you need is a Lever, Fulcrum, Your heavy load and effort for it to lift.

Facts about Easter

 We finally made it to good Friday. I hope yous are having a lovely day. Today you'll find out facts about easter. Did you know that more than 1.5 million Cadbury creme eggs are produced everyday, that's a lot of chocolate. The world’s largest Easter egg weighs in at 5000 lbs, that's really heavy. People ask why is it called good Friday and it's because Today, the calamitous day is celebrated as Good Friday.  "That terrible Friday has been called Good Friday because it led to the Resurrection of Jesus and his victory over death and sin and the celebration of Easter, the very pinnacle of Christian celebrations," the Huffington Post reported. Did you know on the 16th century is when easter egg hunt started and comes from germany. On the 3rd of April at about 3pm is when Jesus dies on the cross to forgive our sins for the wrong we have done and he is released after 3 days (6th of April). For easter there's a lot of activities and here's some, Egg and spoon race, Jelly bean guessing game, Decorate a egg, make chocolate fondue, easter egg hunt and other things you can find on google. I'm so happy that were not on level 4 because if we were we could've been doing nothing and it'll be so boring. I've asked a lot of people for what there doing for easter and the sad thing is that they said nothing. For easter we will be going out and I can't wait because the last time we went out was ages ago (last year). I think a lot of people are going to the Blues and Hurricanes game tomorrow (3rd of April), I hope yous have fun. I hope you have a nice easter holiday Happy easter.

Things that will be happening on Earth if everything works

 As we know coronavirus is still a thing and today marks the day we moved to level 4. So far 2021 has been a nice and normal year and we all hope there wouldn't be a lot of cases and lockdowns. We should be proud because we have looked after ourselves but not just us also the world for following the rules. We should be happy because on October the 1st Walt Disney World is having there 50th anniversary, can you believe that. I'm even happier that they are having the Olympics in Tokyo and will be held on the 23rd of July to the 8 of August 2021. For all the cricket fans out there I hope your looking forward for the T20 cricket world cup that will be held on October. We also need to celebrate the queen's 95th birthday that would be on the 7th of June. The bad things are that 82 indians have been infected with the new COVID-19 that was discovered in Britain over the last two weeks of 2020. For all the Elon Musk fans unfortunately Elon Musk passes it on to Jeff Bezos to be the richest man in the world. Back to our good news, and yes April fools will be on the 1st of April I know, time flies. Finally it's almost easter on the 4th of April, I hope COVID wouldn't spoil it. Matariki is happening in 99 days on June the 24th, time does fly by. Now for the things that already happened but some of us didn't realize. Facebook and Instagram banned Donald Trump for at least two weeks, it must be hard to live without social media. Biden's win was certified by congress meaning that he won the election again, WOW. Near the Capitol, pipe bombs were reportedly found at the RNC headquarters and a suspicious package arrived at the DNC headquarters. I hope you all stay safe and hopefully these fun things would happen. I also hope we find a cuer for COVID-19. GOD bless you

Leadership program

Today we started our leadership program. Our first trip was going to Glen Taylor school. We were so excited to meet the other 10 people that's also doing this program. There was only 9 of us because Asi was sick. We waited in the Glen Taylor office. It was really nice how they decorate and show off their trophies. After that we went to the hall and waited at the entrance. Our first activity was oldest to shortest. It was really difficult because we couldn't talk we could only use our hands. They checked but it wasn't really in the right order so they gave us one more chance but we could talk. It was in the correct order but not only that it was also easier for them to put us in groups. We had to learn there names and think of a group name. We couldn't think of one so we just name it group 1. We washed our hands then looked at the teacher. She was making sushi and it looked so easy but when we tried we were struggling. Group 2 and 3 were making the sushi and group 3 was cutting the sushi. We each had a turn making sushi, it was hard because the sushi kept making holes. We had to grab a handful of rice and spread with some water because it was sticky. We also added chicken or tuna with some vegetables. At the end we got to eat it and it was so nice. There was enough for everyone and we each had fun eating it. Lastly we had to do youngest to oldest just in case we forgot. We also had to learn there name and tell Mr Hendricks what there names were. They told us what was gonna happen tomorrow with Peter Gordon. We had so much fun that we wanted to stay there for the whole day but we had to go back to school.

Water Safety

Today we learned about water. I learned many things from Whaia Moe. It was really fun and some parts were sad. If you are in the water NEVER hold someone. The story was that there were three boys and they were playing the person to hold their breath the longest. They played that and got jealous because the other boy kept on winning so they held him under the water and he couldn't breath so the lifeguards told everyone to get out because of those 2 boys. They called the ambulance and on the way to hospital he past away. It was a really sad story and they didn't mean to do it or end it like this. I learned to NEVER EVER do that to anyone. Don't panic when you are in danger just put one hand up and shout for help. Float on your back and don't fight the current or else you won't have that much energy to swim back. How to identify a rip. It will look rough and dark. Most people drowned in it and never fight it. You can break a bone if you bomb, manu and other dangerous things. It happen to a boy when he broke the swimming school rules and broke is neck. I have learned a lot and learned to never do it or try it. I had a fun program.

2. Did you know more than 480,000   people every year die in the United states because of smoking.	3. We need to keep our body healthy and fit. We can’t just sit down playing games and eating snacks
4, We really need to stop smoking and drinking because we are making more problems into our own world and humans	5. Smoking and drinking can really cause a big problem in your life. You can either get cancer or another disease.
6. If we did not have alcohol  We would be having nice people that do not steal or do bad things	7. A single cigarette contains over 4,800  chemicals, 69 of which are known to cause cancer. Secondhand smoke contains over 7,000 chemicals, including 70 cancer causing chemicals
8. About 8.6 million people in the US have at least 1 serious illness that's caused by smoking	9. Most smokers die 10 years earlier than nonsmokers. There are about 1,300 people that die from smoking.
10. You can lose money by buying cigarettes or alcohol. People lose their money because of buying alcohol, cigarettes and the bad things for our body. Did you	11. know that they sell it because they want to earn money. I think we should stop buying bad things for us and use the money for good things. What do you think?

My Holiday

In the holidays my family and I had the most fun holiday together because we did lots of exciting things.

My mum and my two brothers went to Auckland Grammar for our training and we were sweating but we had lots of fun learning basketball skills. After my training I still had energy so I joined the under 14 class and learned many things from the older kids. When we were finished we drove home and my mum was just talking to us about sports. After that we got home and we showered and went to Viaduct and we saw many expensive boats and they were huge but the biggest none was white and fancy. After we went to get pizza from Glen Innes and while waiting we went to paknsave to get snacks and other things. After going to Paknsave we went to the basketball court in Tamaki and we had the best sunday. We went back home and got ready for church at 6:30, and we went to get ready and go. We got to church and we went in an sat down. After a while I saw Miss manuel standing]next to the door welcoming people so I went to say hi and she was surprised so we started talking. After church we went back home and got ready for school. I had the best Sunday with my family. I felt blessed and happy, and I am looking forward to my next holiday.

Celebrating Matariki

Today we were celebrating matariki. Each class had a display and it was about matariki. All of them were amazing and some of their art took about 3 or 4 weeks to complete it. Rooms 6 7 8 and 10's display was all about are and room 6's art had maori meaning. After looking at the seniors art display we went to the juniors and they art display to. They had art stars together with the matariki cluster name. We liked exploring there amazing art work and most of them looked wonderful. After exploring we came back and i learned how to make a kite with chop sticks and wool. all you have to do is go over under over under and the colours will also change. After exploring we will be having hangi for a celebration and the kapa haka group will be performing. Every art work looked amazing and they also put there hard work into it.

How to play leader strike

Leader strike is a fun game and you might like it. It's like a leader and president  game but you strike and strike means you can shoot, aim,  climb and do anything but you can’t go in the houses, you can only go on the roof. You can pick any character but some of them you  have to log in and pick your own nickname. Sometimes you can get mad when you lose or die but it’s still fun because when you die you can still play and when you lose you can have another rematch. Anyone can play even though you're an adult because leader strike is for anyone. There are 2 teams and they are black and blue.

How to play leader strike is you have to wait because it loads and after it loads you automatically come to the menu. When you click on the auto you come to another menu and it says  local save or online save. You click on any and it takes you to pick your own character but some says log in to all features but you don’t have to click it because there's some other ones that says select and you don't have to log in or do anything but click select. After that you can make a room but when you make the room you click new room and it says room name, game mode, player limit, map and you can pick any gun and whoever joins has to use that gun but when it shows up b you can pick to click on it or not click on it but if you click on it you can pick your own gun but you have to earn money by killing.
